Mechanical Properties
Testing the tensile strength of a casting ensures that it will safely endure more strain than it will ever see in its working environment. Included in testing tensile strength are testing for yield strength, ultimate strength, and breaking strength. Yield strength determines the point at which the casting can be strained and still return to its normal shape. Ultimate strength is the maximum pressure the casting can withstand before reaching the breaking strength or rupture point. FWT has various technologies to accurately perform tensile strength tests on diverse castings that require a wide range of tensile force tests. These tensile tests can range from electric testers to high-powered hydraulic compression and shear testers.
